Meet Martin

Our leadership team is committed to improving lives and positively impacting the communities we work with, and we’d like for you to get to know each of them a bit better.

Meet Martin!
In 2015 Martin Nansia was the translator for the first Sonder Project team that traveled to Burkina Faso to help build a school. Six years later, he is our Lead Project Manager and oversees operations in the country.
Martin is passionate about treating people with dignity and helping them achieve fundamental human rights such as clean water, food, and education.

Martin joins male leaders from a community during the inauguration of a Sonder well.
“I’m excited about our Community Farm project and its potential to create sustainable ways for families to provide for themselves,” he said. “People feel The Sonder Project is shaping their community for the better, and I’m proud to be part of significant change.”
Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in English and is a certified interpreter. In 2020, he completed his master’s degree in Project Management with support from The Sonder Project.
When he has time to relax, Martin said he enjoys watching soccer and rooting for his favorite team, Real Madrid, and watching motivational speeches on YouTube.
Video Tip: Check out one of Martin’s favorite speakers, Dr. Munroe, HERE.

Martin poses with a community during a mass meeting to discuss the possibility of a well project.
Look in the center of the photo—he is the only one wearing glasses. Can you find him?
